Privacy Policy

AES Cancer Foundation ("AES," "we," "us") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Portsmouth, Virginia. This policy explains what information we collect through aescancerfoundation.org, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain language because that is how we try to do everything.
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to send us:
- Contact and newsletter forms. Your name, email address, phone number, and the message you write.
- Assistance requests. Your name, contact details, location, your connection to the patient, and what you share about the diagnosis, treatment, and household finances. Share only what you are comfortable sharing; a short message is enough to start.
- Golf registration, sponsorship, and volunteer forms. Names, contact details, and event information such as team members or company name.
We do not require an account, and we do not collect information from you just for visiting the site.
How we use it
- To respond to you, review assistance requests, and administer events.
- To send the updates you signed up for. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also email us to be removed at any time.
- We use assistance-request information only to review and respond to the request. It is read by Angela's family, treated as confidential, and never used for marketing.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not use it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers below, or if the law requires us to.
Services we rely on
Like most small organizations, we use a few trusted services. Each processes some data under its own privacy policy:
- Formspree delivers our form submissions to our email inbox (formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy).
- Square processes donations and event payments on its own secure checkout pages. Card numbers and payment details go to Square, not to us (squareup.com/legal/general/privacy).
- Cloudflare hosts this website and may process technical data such as IP addresses in server logs to deliver pages and protect against abuse (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy).
- Google Fonts supplies the site's typeface; your browser requests the font files from Google's servers (policies.google.com/privacy).
Cookies and tracking
We do not run analytics and we do not set tracking or advertising cookies. Because we do not track visitors, this site does not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals; there is nothing to turn off. Our service providers above may use strictly necessary technical means to deliver their services.
Keeping information safe
The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions and payment pages are encrypted in transit. We keep assistance-request information only as long as needed to review and respond, and we limit who sees it.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Your choices
Email info@aescancerfoundation.org to ask what information we have about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to stop receiving updates. We will honor these requests regardless of where you live.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
